I spent last week doing something a little obsessive.
I went through over 100 tattoo artist Instagram profiles.
One by one. Tracking 8 specific things on every single one.
Name field, bio, link, highlights, pinned posts. All of it.
I built a spreadsheet. Ran the numbers. And honestly:
The results SHOCKED me!
85.3% of profiles were missing at least one critical element.
Not minor stuff. Things that directly affect whether a potential client stays on your profile or leaves and books someone else.
Here's a quick look at what I found:
77.5% of profiles had a name field that was invisible to Instagram search
73.5% of bios were missing at least one key element
47.1% had no link in their bio at all
Only 14.7% of profiles had everything in place
That last number is the one that stuck with me.
Only 14.7% of tattoo artists have a profile that's actually set up to convert visitors into bookings.
